About Cliff Recovery Network

The People Behind Cliff

Cliff Recovery Network was built by people who understand recovery from the inside, backed by clinical expertise that makes sure every plan is grounded in what actually works.

Our Mission

We're here to change lives, protect families, and prove that recovery is possible when you build it the right way — with absolute integrity. We don't need to be the biggest. We will be the most trusted.

Our Story

Conceived in California, rooted in Midwestern values.

For a decade, Cory built a successful career in the corporate world, eventually finding his own path to recovery. But two and a half years into his sobriety, his life came to a sudden, catastrophic halt.

Cory suffered a life-threatening spinal stroke. The doctors delivered a devastating prognosis: he would be paralyzed. But Cory refused to accept that outcome. He fought back, beat the paralysis, and reclaimed his life.

Surviving an ordeal like that shifts your entire perspective. For Cory, the stroke was the ultimate catalyst. It became the moment he decided to stop climbing the corporate ladder and start chasing his actual dream: fixing a deeply broken behavioral healthcare system.

He shared this vision with his wife, Elizabeth. In a stroke of pure serendipity, Cory and Elizabeth had both grown up in the exact same hometown of Fishers, Indiana, but incredibly, didn't meet until they were both living in Los Angeles. When Cory laid out his vision to return to the Midwest and build a different kind of recovery ecosystem, Elizabeth blindly believed in him. She stepped up as the integral force behind Cliff Recovery Network's foundation and continued success.

The Steve Jobs Philosophy

Through Cory's own journey and their navigation of the behavioral healthcare industry, a glaring truth emerged: the system was not built for people to actually get well. It operated like an assembly line, designed to treat acute episodes, manage crises, and cycle people through. It was rarely built with the true end goal in mind: long-term, sustained abstinence.

To fix it, Cory and Elizabeth adopted a core philosophy from tech visionary Steve Jobs: “You've got to start with the customer experience and work backwards to the technology.”

They applied this directly to recovery. Instead of asking, “What services can we bill for?” they started at the finish line. They asked, “What does an individual actually need to achieve lifelong abstinence, and what does the family need to heal?”

Working backwards from that ultimate goal became the lens through which every single business decision was made. We decided then and there: we will continue to do what works, not what can be billed.

Building the Ecosystem

They started where the foundation of recovery is built: safe, structured sober living.

It was the most critical gap they saw in the market. But as they worked with individuals and families, they kept looking backwards from that ultimate goal of lifelong abstinence, continually identifying new gaps in the continuum of care. When individuals left treatment without a roadmap, they built a premier recovery coaching program. When families were drowning in chaos, they added strategic interventions and family coaching. When clinical mental health support was needed to untangle root causes, they integrated professional individual and family therapy.

Today, Cliff Recovery Network has evolved into the comprehensive, bold recovery ecosystem they originally dreamed of — built specifically to serve the Midwest.

We are not trying to be the biggest game in town, the loudest brand, or a massive corporate conglomerate. We are here to change lives, protect families, and prove that recovery is possible when you build it the right way with absolute integrity.

We don't need to be the biggest. But we will be the most trusted.
